How to Create a Key Figure in SAP BW
Here are step by step how to create Key Figure in SAP BW Info Object Tree.
1. In the initial screen of the Administrator Workbench, choose the function Area Modeling (transaction code: RSA1), and Info Objects.
2. Create or maintain an Info Area within the Info Object tree.
3. Create or maintain an Info Object Catalog with type key figure within the Info Object tree.
4. Via the context menu for the Info Object Catalog, choose Create Info Object.
5. Enter a technical name (3-9 characteristics) and a long description for the key figure and confirm the entries.
6. Maintain the tab pages of key figure:
- Type/unit
- Aggregation
- Additional Properties

7. Finally, save and activate the “new” key figure.
Above are steps how to create key figure in SAP Business Warehouse, but before we can use key figures, we must make sure they are activated. Activating the key figure generates the corresponding DDIC objects (data element, for example).
